The History

For the tracement of his own vehicles fleet, Transmec has chosen Tom Tom WORK technology. The solution allows, on real time, to manage the communication with any of the vehicles on the road, in a flexible and immediate way, granting the higher quality of the service.

Transmec Group supplies transport, logistics and freight forwarding services. It counts 800 employees and a vehicles fleet of 500 lorries and trailers. Transmec Group activities are organized through several management plants, including the headquarters in Modena, main branches in Milan, Turin, Prato, Reggio Emilia and branches through Europe and worldwide, which are all connected to each other thanks to a wide company network.

The capillarity of such communication network and the importance of the supplied services have forced Transmec Group to look for a solution of centralized management for the vehicles fleet, able to minimize the overall resources and administration costs, keeping a high and checkable level of track & tracing. 

In such context TOM TOM technology guarantees an efficient, gradable and with a high availability logic system, fully trustable for bidirectional communication and real-time tracemant. Furthermore, everything can be centrally managed thanks to TOM TOM WEBFLEET solution.

The centralized administration system, fully integrated with our technological platform, allows Transmec Group to minimize the total management and solution maintenance cost.

Tom Tom WORK is equipped with a GPRS connection with the device placed on the travelling vehicle. The interactivity with the vehicle allows to reach it and find its position any time and from any pc, equipped with an internet connection.

This enables Transmec Group to update on real time the information to be given to the drivers. Any unexpected variation in the trip planning can be immediately forwarded to the driver, so that he is able to reorganize the delivery in the most efficient way and granting time and resources saving.
